My pedagogical approach is to create a tailored experience for each one of
my students based on their goals and aspirations.

Objectives

Help students develop mentally and emotionally
Create a positive, understanding, and helpful environment
Nurture love and passion for learning, appreciating, and sharing music
Generate a positive outlook on taking lessons
Build self discipline and observation skills
Develop confidence

Strategy

Focus on advancing both technical facility and musical expression
Work on variety of pieces: concert pieces, scales, and etudes
Tailor assignments for the advancement of the students’ current level of playing Develop the skill of oral articulation through self-analysis

Young Beginners

With young students I find it important to have a conversation with the parents to understand their objectives for getting their children involved with taking music lessons. It is paramount that both the student and the parents understand the process of learning the violin/viola. The beginning stages of taking lessons require great attention to basic technical set-up, and it is my goal for all my students to play with a proper basic technique.
